Hi Everyone!

My favorite time of the year is autumn. I love cold weather and the colors that this season brings to the nature.

Also, in this time of the year, my grandma and I make sopaipillas when it rains. Beside of the delicious meal that we have, I love cooking with my grandma because we talk a lot. I usually ask for advice, also we talk about our problems, sometimes we gossip, or just laugh about something dumb.

Anyways, I don’t remember the exact recipe, but I remember this. We use: ¼  kg. of pumpkin, hot water, 3 cups of flour, 1 tea spoon of baking soda, 3 spoons of vegetal fat, salt and vegetal oil.  You have to cook the pumpkin into hot water with salt and when it’s ready, you take the pumpkin off the water and smash it. Then you make sort of a flour volcano and pour like ½ cup of the water where you cooked the pumpkin (make sure you added salt). Then add the smashed pumpkin and the vegetal fat (you have to melt it into a pan first) and slowly stir with a wood spoon. Then you start kneading with your hands, be careful of mix up the hot water correctly into the flour before you do this. So, knead until it looks like in the picture bellow, make sure you kinda break while stretching the dough so it´s soft. Also, don’t add more of anything, at first your dough might seem weird, but after a while it’s perfect. Then, with a roller, flat your dough and with a cup or a plate, cut your dough into circles and fried it. They’re yummy, you should try it.

The last two autumns we couldn’t cook together because of covid, so hope this year I can cook with her again.
